The Southlake Carroll Dragons saw their playoff run come to a dramatic close on Saturday, falling 45-38 to the undefeated DeSoto Eagles. The defeat ended the Dragons’ five-game winning streak and their hopes for postseason glory.

Despite the loss, Southlake Carroll had standout performances. Riley Wormley dazzled with 134 rushing yards and a touchdown on just 12 carries, while Clayton Wayland added 114 receiving yards. Special teams also played a crucial role, with Kyle Lemmermann contributing 12 points—three field goals and three extra points.

For DeSoto, Deondrae Riden Jr. delivered an electrifying performance, rushing for 254 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries, marking a season high. Quarterback Darius Bailey was equally impressive, completing 75% of his passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns.

The Dragons finish their season with a commendable 13-2 record, while the Eagles remain undefeated at 14-0. DeSoto now sets its sights on Summer Creek in a Saturday showdown, promising a high-scoring clash as both teams prepare for a holiday battle under the lights.
