The Bishop Lynch Friars fell just short in a 34-28 loss to the Bishop McGuinness Fighting Irish on Saturday, delivering a spirited performance against a highly ranked opponent.

Despite being significant underdogs—ranked 494th in Texas compared to the Fighting Irish’s 26th spot in Oklahoma—the Friars kept the game competitive. Wide receiver Aiden McGinnis was a key playmaker, amassing 164 receiving yards and scoring two touchdowns.

Bishop Lynch also shined in the run game, posting an impressive 234 rushing yards, their best output in over a year. However, the Friars couldn’t contain Bishop McGuinness, who extended their road-winning streak to five games.

With the loss, Bishop Lynch moves to 1-2 on the season. Meanwhile, Bishop McGuinness improved to 2-1, showing why they remain a strong contender in Oklahoma football.
