Allen Escapes Prosper in Instant Classic, Claims 6-6A Championship
PROSPER Saturday afternoon delivered every ounce of drama a district title showdown could offer, and Allen found just enough grit to survive the final swing. In a thriller that kept the crowd on edge from start to finish, the Eagles slipped out of Children’s Health Stadium with a 31 to 30 victory and the District 6-6A crown firmly in hand.
What was supposed to be a Friday night showcase became a daytime duel, and both teams lit up the stage.
Prosper Strikes First, Allen Answers
Prosper opened the day with confidence, marching downfield for a 30-yard kick from Mikey Bukauskas. The early three points woke up Allen’s offense, and running back Lyndon Spriggs barreled across the goal line from five yards out to give Allen its first lead.
That edge did not last long. Prosper quarterback Braeden Imhoff found Tulsa pledge Lathon Latiolais on a quick slant that broke free down the sideline for a 75-yard burst to the house, sending the home crowd into a frenzy.
Allen refused to blink. Senior quarterback Jeremiah Daoud launched a deep ball to Carter Harris for a 50-yard scoring strike, and Spriggs added a touchdown off a screen pass to give Allen a 21 to 10 advantage at the break.
Prosper’s Rally Sparks a Frenzied Second Half
The Coyotes came out of halftime ready to trade blows. Bryce Robinson powered in from ten yards out to trim the margin, then Prosper dialed up a trick play that will live in film rooms for weeks. Imhoff pitched to Marcus McCoy, who uncorked a deep throw to Latiolais for a 41-yard score. Some argued the pass should not have counted, but the officials signaled touchdown, flipping the lead to Prosper as the third quarter ended.
Suddenly Allen found itself behind, 24 to 21.
Fourth Quarter Turns Chaotic
Allen drove inside the 25 early in the fourth but missed a 40-yard kick, giving Prosper a chance to extend its surge. The Eagles’ defense forced a stop, and Preston Hurless tied the game moments later with a steady 37-yard field goal.
Prosper answered with its loudest punch of the afternoon. Imhoff found Dallas Boozer streaking through open space for a 57-yard catch and run. A missed extra point left Prosper ahead 30 to 24 with just over five minutes left.
That miss became the crack Allen needed.
Daoud delivered a poised final drive, finding Spriggs and Caleb Smith on key plays before senior back Jaden Hambric bulldozed into the end zone from ten yards out. Allen reclaimed the lead, 31 to 30, with 72 seconds left.
Prosper’s Last Chance Fades at the Horn
Prosper still had life. Boozer hauled in a clutch 16-yard gain to reach midfield, but the Eagles never stopped the clock, setting up a hurried final attempt. Bukauskas lined up from 46 yards with the game on his foot. The kick carried plenty of power but drifted right, ending the Coyotes’ hopes as time expired.

What It Means
Allen improves to 8 and 0 overall and completes its district slate at 6 and 0, standing tall after its closest call of the year. The Eagles once again held off a Prosper team loaded with athletes and big-play weapons.
Prosper drops to 7 and 1, leaving the field knowing they had the defending district champions on the ropes. Missed opportunities turned out to be the difference, but their performance showed they are built for a deep playoff run.
Allen survives. Prosper proves it belongs in the state conversation. And District 6-6A just delivered one of the games of the season.
