Coyotes Stamp Their Playoff Ticket with Dominant Showing at The Star

FRISCO Anna walked into The Star on Thursday night with a postseason berth within reach and walked out with a statement. The Coyotes dismantled Frisco Memorial 56 to 7, leaving little suspense about which sideline controlled the game from start to finish.

Williams Takes Over Under the Lights

Quarterback Ziondre Williams delivered a performance worthy of the venue. The junior carved up the Memorial defense for 322 total yards and four scores, mixing precision through the air with electric runs in open space. With the Coyotes holding a slim lead early in the second quarter, Williams tore the contest open. A perfectly placed 38-yard strike to Jaxsen Lyons set the tone, followed moments later by a weaving 19-yard sprint into the end zone.

What began as a tight contest at 7 to 0 ballooned to a 35 to 0 halftime advantage, and Anna never looked back.

A Full Offensive Showcase

The Coyotes shared the spotlight across their skill positions. Ace Traylor found paydirt twice, while Carter Merritt, Pharell Brown, and Keshawn Myles each added touchdowns of their own. It was the definition of a balanced attack, leaving Memorial searching for answers on every series.

Defense Closes the Door

Anna’s defensive unit delivered its own brand of dominance. The front seven sped into the backfield repeatedly and finished the night with four sacks, smothering Memorial’s rhythm until the final minutes. The Mustangs broke the shutout only in the fourth quarter when Benjamin Wilson connected with Beckett Martin near the goal line.

Frisco Memorial dropped to 3 and 6 with the loss and now turns its attention to a matchup with Lovejoy on November 7.

What Comes Next

Anna, now 7 and 2 overall and surging at 5 and 2 in district play, returns home to face Liberty next Thursday. With a playoff berth secured and momentum building, the Coyotes appear to be peaking at the perfect time, and few teams will be eager to line up against them in November.
