Dragons Dominate in a Postseason Shutout of Crowley

Southlake Carroll arrived on opening night of the playoffs with one message in mind. The Dragons were not easing into anything. They fired from the opening whistle and never let Crowley breathe, rolling to a commanding 35 to 0 victory that reflected the same dominance they showed throughout the regular season.

Renda Sparks an Early Surge

Quarterback Angelo Renda wasted no time reminding everyone of his playmaking ability. The senior sliced through the secondary with precision, throwing for 212 yards and two touchdowns while adding another score on the ground. His mobility created problems all game, as he ripped off 64 yards on only six keepers.

Wideout Brock Boyd continued to be Renda’s go-to option, turning in 101 receiving yards and pulling in a touchdown that stretched the early lead beyond Crowley’s reach.

Defense Turns the Lights Out

Crowley faced a wall every time it tried to establish the run. Southlake Carroll’s interior defenders dominated the trenches, allowing only three yards per carry and leaving the Eagles searching for answers that never came. Robbie Ladd set the tone inside by clogging lanes and forcing Crowley into long-yardage situations.

The Dragons’ pass rush brought its own brand of havoc. Antwain Griffin spent much of the night trying to escape collapsing pockets as Carroll piled up three sacks. Crawford Taylor led the charge with two of them, while linebacker Luke Bussmann delivered a disruptive night that included seven tackles and two forced fumbles.

Another Step in a Perfect Season

The win pushes Southlake Carroll to 11 and 0, a record built on weekly blowouts and overwhelming execution on both sides of the ball. Their offense is humming at a pace few teams can match, and the defense continues to suffocate opponents long before halftime.

Crowley falls to 3 and 8 after running into a buzzsaw. The Eagles could not counter Carroll’s speed, strength, or depth at any point in the matchup.

Southlake Carroll moves forward looking very much like a program with plans to be playing well into December.
