Southlake Carroll Drops Prosper to Advance, Stays Perfect at 13-0
Under the bright lights of playoff football, Southlake Carroll once again looked like a team built for deep December runs. The Dragons controlled nearly every phase Friday night, rolling past Prosper 49 to 31 and extending their spotless season to thirteen wins.
Renda in Full Command
From the opening series, quarterback Angelo Renda dictated the rhythm with calm precision. The junior standout completed twenty six of thirty throws for two hundred thirty five yards and three touchdowns, then added seventy two rushing yards to keep Prosper’s defense off balance all night. Every time the Eagles hinted at a comeback, Renda answered with another composed drive.
Brock Boyd proved to be the perfect complement, turning in one of his strongest outings of the year. He piled up one hundred twenty six receiving yards and two touchdowns, repeatedly finding space and punishing Prosper’s secondary with explosive catches.
Dragons Turn Defense into Momentum
As the offense continued to slice through the Eagles, the Dragons’ defense delivered the moments that swung the game out of reach. Three different defenders came up with interceptions, with Gavin Strange, Parker Harris, and Austin Bussmann each halting a Prosper push. Those takeaways erased scoring chances and gave Carroll the control it needed to stay ahead comfortably.
What the Win Means
Southlake Carroll continues its march through the playoffs at thirteen and zero, showcasing the same blend of discipline and firepower that has defined its season. Prosper’s run ends at eleven and two, snapping a four game stretch of impressive wins and bringing their postseason journey to a close in the regional semifinals.
A Massive Matchup on Deck
The Dragons now prepare for a high stakes battle against Guyer on Saturday at two. It will feature one of the most dynamic offenses in Texas going head to head with a defense that has smothered opponents all fall, allowing fewer than fifteen points per game. With a spot in the next round on the line, Southlake Carroll knows it will need every bit of its offensive precision and defensive grit to keep the perfect season intact.
