Argyle Flexes on the Road Again, Handles Seguin in Thursday Night Showdown

ARLINGTON Road trips continue to bring out the best in Argyle. The Eagles walked into Seguin’s backyard on Thursday night and walked out with a convincing 41 to 24 win, stretching their streak of victories away from home to nine straight.

Seguin entered the matchup with confidence after stacking four consecutive home wins, but Argyle quickly reminded the Cougars why last year’s meeting was so lopsided. Once the Eagles seized momentum early, Seguin never fully recovered.

Gasperson Guides the Flight

No player shaped the night more than Maguire Gasperson. The senior quarterback controlled the rhythm and pace of the game, firing two touchdown passes while also carving up the defense with a pair of rushing scores. It was his most complete ground performance since the start of last season and exactly the kind of command Argyle needed to silence the home crowd.

Running back Obadiah Goble made the most of his touches, ripping off 69 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. Every time he found daylight, Argyle’s offense looked even more explosive.

Cougars Show Fight but Cannot Close the Gap

Seguin stayed in striking distance long enough to keep things interesting. A couple of late possessions hinted at a potential push, but the Cougars never strung together the stops needed to slow Argyle’s balance. Each time Seguin narrowed the margin, the Eagles answered with another efficient march down the field.

The loss drops Seguin to 5 and 2 and marks the end of their home winning streak that had held firm since last fall.

Argyle, meanwhile, continues to look like a team built to win anywhere, anytime.
